DNS filtering not working with Kitty

I have a Cat S22 with kitty and want to block pictures on Google Maps. I setup a custom DNS and it blocks maps pictures on other phones. The one with kitty still loads the pictures. Any fixes?
Android Auto needs google maps to work and other maps apps like waze only show on android auto with Play Store installed.

Okay I just tried it again and Waze does show but other apps like the music player only show with Play store enabled

So if I could get it to work with a fake maps app that would be great. I tried installing a Google Maps Stub but get [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Package com.google.android.apps.maps signatures do not match previously installed version; ignoring!

I guess other option is wait on @FlipAdmin for this

Is there root? If there is then delete the maps APK and reinstall the stub, it shouldn’t give that error anymore

Kitty rom comes with Google maps or a stub of it?

Why don’t you root it to get rid of Google maps and use a stub instead?

You can root the device do what you need to do then unroot it and everything is the same, besides what you deleted…

If you are using egate why don’t you use the accessibility feature to block it on the phone?

It’s still running traffic through the DNS because now I blocked enough urls maps doesn’t work. Maybe I’ll just let it like that and disable the app with accessibility

It’s working now DNS is blocking pictures on maps like on my other devices. No idea why I couldn’t get it to work before.

found this 126.174.150.34.bc.googleusercontent.com, but I can’t enter wildcard domains in the host file and it’s probably device specific.

This specific url works on my phone, for now.

Yes, I created a DNS Filter on nextdns.io. Them are the domains I used and it seemed to block the photos and street view on google maps for me.

Try checking through multiple different listings, and also try immersive view (when you press directions)

Tried your exact links and there were a bunch of holes

Ok, Sorry, I tried multiple places and it blocked all the street views and photos that I found. I turned the DNS off and it showed the photos and street view, and when I turned the DNS back on it still showed pics and street view in the overview of the listing I had viewed with DNS off. I cleared the cache and that seemed to take care of that. I don’t know, maybe it makes a difference on the location.
