Anyone here ever managed to get the arm 4 cpu’s 24gb ram 200gb storage oracle free vps?
following gemini i chose us west as my region. they claimed that in that region they have more available of that option but whenever i tried i got out of host capacity. I had a python script trying once a minute and it didn’t got out of host capacity every time for a very long time. Am i doing something wrong? Is there a different region anywhere that has more available?
Looks like you have a higher chance of getting a server in phoenix. Idk if you can change your region tho

i have more emails and cards. Can always create new accounts. If I knew which place I’ll actually succeed even with b script I’d create an account.
Just remember - More distance = Higher latency
overrated next level. Its actually often better a direct route to somewhere in the eu then land travel locally. Anyway we’re talking about very small differences.
Also long is better then nothing
AI was trying to tell me the same but when it came to the numbers it made no sense to worry. At least for my use cases

Its obviously best to confirm but i heard that’s just the generic estimated cost but since its on the always free tier it ends up being free. Unless you might’ve selected options that are not covered by the always free.

Yeah probably. I am pretty sure that @ars18 is running his apkdl on only one cpu and one GB of RAM (Using the VM.Standard.E2.1.Micro shape). Only problem with running yt-dlp on that shape is that it doesn’t come with a lot of bandwidth (although idk how much you need). It also doesn’t violate OCI’s ToS.

major update. I upgraded to pay as you go plan and created the exact same plan which should still be free as its within the free limit regardless of account type but since i’m a payg costumer i have normal priority and created no problem easily. Just created it. Will update if i get unexpected charges or other issues.

Yes upgrading to pay as you go will definitely give you access however once you upgrade there is no way to place a hard limit on your account to make sure you never spend money.
There was a script that runs it constantly on your computer (don’t have the link right now but if you want I can find it) . It has disadvantages mainly you have to keep your computer on and I read online they may temp blacklist your IP from too many requests, I’m not sure how true that is and if it’s permanent or temporary
I created this script that runs through GitHub actions, tho I forgot to implement the logic that automatically cancels it once an instance is created. (Feel free to fork and push )
I tried with a script but free tier there were so many there that my script didn’t help either.
I created a payg account and so far supposed to be charged 0. If my calculations are correct, choosing all the same as if its free is technically less even if you use it 24/7 should still be free. no responsibility
You have to let the script run for at least a week
or create a payg account for free and set it up in seconds plus they won’t close your vps if its not being used for 7 days
