Impossible to hack basic phone for expert hacker?

Hi all,

I’m trying to help out a friend of mine who needs a phone for his son who is a expert phone hacker, he’s given his son a bunch of the standard kosher phones (not naming any brands due to lashon hora concerns) and his son has broken through them way to easily.

He is now debating between the mind phone 2 pro and the wonder phone for his son, Can anyone chime in on how secure these are? Would they be able to withstand a brilliant bochur who has cracked open many of the other cheaper ones?

Nobody has managed to break into the Wonder phone as of now

Nobody has managed to break into the Fig Flip 2 as of last week…

Competitive pricing!

Does he need any specific features?

If you are okay with talk only, the Escolls Ani Choma seems to be pretty well locked down to me

I understand why you don’t want to name phone brands, but then that makes it a bit harder to advise.

Some so-called kosher phone brands have very weak kashrus.

But I’d say that any phone that @ars18 pentested is probably safe, unless your friends son happens to know @flipphoneguy.

That said, nothing is actually impossible to hack, but good kosher tech company will make sure that their products aren’t practical to hack.

Get the wonder phone

try a light phone

More secure than Megalife?

Or is the problem with the Megalife that it’s fleishegs?

He didn’t say that was an option

Mmmm deli roll

r/ModifiedLightPhones

Never mind that their “LightOS” is a React Native app slapped on top of AOSP.

Never mind that they’re introducing their own SDK.

The mind phone is most probably fine now too. Just new

I think it’s not even android

One of the best posts on the forum

sure but if you have an e-ink screen there isn’t really anything you can do anyway

You’re talking about specifically the Lightphone ii and not the Lightphone iii.

And I’m sorry but

“sure but if you have an e-ink screen there isn’t really anything you can do anyway”

is just a non-sensical thing to say. That’s like the people that buy a flip phone and give it to their kid with an open browser and say,

“What’s the problem? It’s a flip phone anyway. What could you do on a flip phone already?”

Agreed. E-ink devices can still use a browser, right?

First of all, light phones don’t have a browser. Second, it’s what you cen do on that browser that makes the difference
