How to block Google Maps imagery with any software that locks DNS settings

Set up your own free NextDNS configuration at nextdns.io. In TripleU MDM, set Private DNS to “YOUR-ID.dns.nextdns.io”, replacing “YOUR-ID” with your configuration ID.

Add these 12 entries to the NextDNS Denylist:

*.encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com

*.encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com

*.encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com

*.encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com

*.ggpht.com

*.gz0.googleusercontent.com

*.lh3.googleusercontent.com

*.lh4.googleusercontent.com

*.lh5.googleusercontent.com

*.lh6.googleusercontent.com

*.googlevideo.com

Result: Google Maps search and navigation continue working, while photos and videos are blocked. Tested on multiple Wi-Fi networks and cellular data.

Use your own NextDNS configuration and quota.
