Question about Egate:
If someone would block all apps except for waze, is there a vulnerability about accessing a browser in waze? Do I need to also block webview?
If I block webview does it block basic Waze functionality that would then require me to sit and test it and add exceptions?
This is all a bit confusing to me to know if there is a simple and easy way to make a Waze-only device…

Waze has an in app browser.

Give me any Waze APK, and I’ll mod it to remove the browser.

Waze has an in-app browser.
In order to block you simply turn on the webview block setting.
It will not mess up any functioning in waze.

What I really want to know is how is it practical to use Egate when you block webview, you cant know if the app will work unless you sit and test each function…

In order to run Android Auto you are required to have a few apps. One of them being the Google app. Assuming you don’t want access to the app I gave you 2 options.

  1. You can download the regular google app and simply make it inaccessible by adding it to the list of “disable with accessibility” in egate, this feature makes the app crash right when opened. But the phone still considers it there so you can use AA.

  2. Or you can use a google stub, which is an apk that tricks the phone to think it has the google app downloaded.

And is there any problem of accessing any content through android auto? Like Assistant or music streaming?

Assistant may work if you use option 1 but not with option 2 IIRC.

Music streaming? I would imagine you need a separate app for it. Which streaming app are you referring to?

Can anyone recommend a cheap android device for Waze Maps And banking for a decent price? Nothing super fast but it should work.
